The Policy, Sustainability & Innovation (PSI) Research Group members have diverse academic backgrounds including the natural sciences, social sciences and law. We are based at The University of Queensland, Australia, with most of us located in the Centre for Policy Futures.
Our work lies at the intersection of public policy, sustainability and innovation with a focus on the role of policy, regulation and governance arrangements in addressing current and emerging sustainability issues, such as biodiversity loss, climate change and overexploitation of natural resources.
Currently, one of our key areas of focus is the policy and governance implications of novel and emerging technologies for environmental outcomes (e.g., coral reef adaptation and restoration and biopesticides).
We are also interested in understanding innovative approaches to policy and governance, such as anticipatory regulation and reflexive governance, in the context of environmental, social and technological change.
