Dr Danielle Smith

Dr Danielle Smith is a former Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Centre for Policy Futures and a University of Queensland team member in the Blue Economy CRC. Her research focused on legal and policy frameworks for Australia’s emerging offshore wind industry, with an emphasis on international best practice.

Danielle specialises in ocean governance, marine spatial planning, environmental impact assessment, and international marine environmental law. She has extensive experience as a marine environmental consultant, including work in the offshore oil and gas and offshore wind sectors, providing expertise on the scientific, legal, and regulatory dimensions of marine development.
