Richmond River Catchment Governance

Assessing the governance of the Richmond River Catchment
This project explores how natural resource management decisions and activities are undertaken across the Richmond River Catchment in northern NSW. Spanning towns, farms, forests and wetlands, the catchment involves many different organisations. They include local councils, state agencies, Aboriginal organisations, and community and regional groups. The project develops and applies a governance assessment framework to understand how responsibilities are shared, how decisions are made, and how coordination occurs across these organisations. The findings aim to support ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and planning in the catchment.
